Death Korps Of Krieg Lasgun
Hello all, I want to preface this post by saying that I have been collecting Death Korps of Krieg (infrequently but a few units here and there) for the greater part of a decade and have finally amassed (and more importantly finished painting and basing) enough of them to begin forming a list.
I'm not sure if anyone else has been working on the same thing, but I've got a PC whose background is in the Krieg Death Korps. As they're one of my all-time favorite IG units from tabletop I set out to make his kit as true to canon as I could. To my horror I discovered the no.98 Lucius Pattern Lasgun hasn't been converted into DH/RT/DW rules anywhere.The only hard and fast rules I can find state that they're high powered, single shot and only get 25 shots per charge pack. I find nothing wrong with the OP design. Its high damage is fairly balanced by the low rate of fire, even if it is another nail in the coffin of the standard lasgun.However, you might want to specify that it cannot use the high power adjustment for +1 damage, as that would be the first thing I would install in that thing, since nobody gets to fire more than 12 rounds singlefire in a combat anyway.And perhaps think about how much you want it to be modifyable, because the second thing I would do with that gun is have the group Techpriest help me modify it to be accurate by getting optimum parts and such.

PLENTY of more powerful and exotic weapons in the 40K universe, plus this bad-boy lacks burst and full auto fire modes, so the slightly augmented damage and penetration at the cost of over half of it's ammo supply seems fair enough. If an Inquisition agent were to modify a service rifle to better suit their needs out of nostalgia or familiarity over a bolter or hellgun then kudos to them! (And yes, this thing would be BRUTAL with the Accurate trait!)The Cadian ex-IG officer turned Inquisitor in my game still keeps a trusty M34 Cantrael Pattern Lasgun in her collection for much the same reason that children keep teddy bears around.

The Lucius Pattern lasgun,The signature weapon of the Death Korps of Krieg, the Lucius-pattern lasgun operates in the 21 megathoule range, but is designed to draw from a standard Munitorum-issue power pack. Consequently, the Lucius lasgun discharges a more powerful shot, but drains the power pack at a correspondingly increased rate. This also puts a great strain on the weapon, limiting the rate of fire and requiring such features as additional heat sink rings lining the exterior of the barrel.
